Corpus Christi Police bust drug operation

A major drug sales operation was broken up with five arrests and the seizure of more than a dozen weapons and various drugs from an apartment on the city's Southside, Corpus Christi police said.

"The large amount of seized drugs, cash and weaponry suggests this was a large scale supplier of synthetic cannabis and other narcotics within Corpus Christi," police said in a news release.

Investigators collected more than 18 pounds of synthetic cannabinoid — a chemical found in marijuana — and two ounces of marijuana. They also collected five ounces of methamphetamine and more than half an ounce of various types of cocaine from the apartment in the 3800 block of Caravelle Parkway, near Carroll High School.
